Our deep sea fishing trips are usually 10 and 12 hour charters. The distance offshore varies from 35 miles to over 50 miles, depending on the boat and the length of trip. We target vermillion snapper, white snapper (porgy), almaco jacks, kings and wahoo. We also target amberjack, gag grouper, red grouper, scamp grouper, red snapper and triggerfish in season. These offshore bottom fishing charters are for the serious anglers. We do often have families who join us for these trips and continue to come back every year. It is all about variety and often some big fish. Some fish of a lifetime have been caught on these trips. A 98 pound amberjack was landed a few years back. We have seen several amberjack in the 60 – 70 pound range. However, a more common size amberjack is in the 20 – 40 pound range. The largest gag grouper I have seen boated weighed 60 pounds. Any grouper over over 20 pounds is a prize fish.

Fishing for Amberjack in Orange Beach
Orange Beach Alabama amberjack fishing is popular with many anglers. Everyone loves the feel and the thrill of a big amberjack pulling drag and bending the rod. These big fish commonly weigh 20 to 40 pounds with some weighing near 70-100 pounds. The federal fishing regulations are minimum length of 34 inches. We usually travel well offshore to find larger amberjack. I recommend a 12 hour amberjack fishing charter to chase the big ones. We will also fish for many other species on these longer fishing trips.
Grouper Fishing
Orange Beach grouper fishing is enjoyed by many anglers. Most everyone loves to place this tasty filet their table. However, you must first locate these bottom dwellers, entice them to bite a bait and then manage to keep them from swimming into the rocks. For these reasons, this is a challenge many anglers enjoy. There are several types of grouper off the Alabama Gulf Coast, including gag grouper red grouper and scamp. There are also other species of grouper caught by deep drop fishing. See more
Deep Drop Fishing in Orange Beach
Deep drop fishing is a specialized type of fishing and requires specialized equipment. This is a full day fishing charter that provides many anglers with fishing they may have not experienced before. Our deep drop fishing charters are 12 and 14 hour trips. We fish depths 300 feet to well over 1,000 feet of water and catch grouper, tilefish, sea bass, rose fish and more. We use lightweight high tech reels that are quiet. You may hold these reels while you fish, feel the bite, hook the fish and reel it into the boat. Our fishing rods are lightweight, yet strong enough to handle big grouper, tilefish and more.
