May 31st, 2010 We are catching some beautiful red snapper on our 6 hour Alabama saltwater fishing charters. Everyone is having a blast hooking into these big reds on our light tackle. We are catching a few mackerel on the 4 hour charters. We caught a couple of late season bull redfish today on a 4 hour charter. We have a full week booked and are ready to go. May 16th, 2010 Beautiful weather and great fishing. Oil spill is over 70 miles from Orange Beach/Gulf Shores, Alabama. We have been catching vermillion snapper, white snapper, red snapper, triggerfish, grouper and mackerel over the past few days. The king mackerel have just arrived. Red snapper are everywhere and there are some really big ones being caught. We had a few eaten by big sharks. Fishing is great and will just get better. Enjoy my recent pics and come join me and Gill on the Getaway.

April 23rd, 2010 Sunny days on the water with great fishing. That is what's happening on the Getaway. This past week was very good with catches of Spanish mackerel on the 4 hour charters. Red snapper are everywhere and being caught on the 6 hour charters and longer. We have to rease the red snapper til June 1st. Our 12 hour charter yesterday produced scamp, amberjack, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, almaco jacks and white snapper. Come join us on the Getaway. April 5th, 2010 Spring Break on the Alabama Gulf Coast continues. We are catching Spanish mackerel on the 4hr fishing charters. Cobia have arrived and some nice ones have been caught in the 30 to 60 pound range. Bottomfishing is good with catches of vermillion snapper, red snapper, white snapper, lane snapper and triggerfish. Hope you enjoy the pics from this past week.

March 21st, 2010 Spring Break is here and so is the fishing. We have experienced several 4 and 6 hour saltwater fishing charters the past week. We are catching a few bull redfish but they are very isolated. Spanish mackerel have just been located a couple of days ago. We have also caught and released a few red snapper on light tackle. A few triggerfish, vermillion snapper and white snapper have been caught on the 6 hour charters. Some very nice amberjack were caught on an 8 hour charter on saturday. Amberjack are usually only caught on 10 and 12 hour charters. However, since there has been very little pressure and the season was closed for a few months, we were able to locate a few amberjack on the 8 hr charter. This may last through April. Enjoy the great fishing pics from Spring Break 2010.

What's biting week of March 1st, 2010? The water is colder than normal from our cold winter and the nearshore fishing is really slow. The bull redfish have moved farther offshore. Untill the water temps increase, your best bet will be fishing at least 20 miles offshore. This can be done on a 6 hr charter. Vermillion snapper, white snapper and triggerfish may be caught. Spanish mackeral and cobia should arrive by late March and can be caught on 4hr charters. Don't forget amberjack season is now open and will probably close late July. An 8hr charter may provide some amberjack. However a 10 hour is always a good trip. Come hook into a big amberjack and hang on. Also, don't forget Gulf Shores Spring Break is here. February 12th, 2010 It is cold and rainy today in Orange Beach, Al. We are experiencing some unusually cold, wet weather. The good news is that we should see much nicer weather by March. March will probably be the last month to catch big bull redfish. We will fishing for Spanish mackerel and cobia in March. The amberjack bite should be hot offshore. Come on and let's go fishing. February 1st, 2010 It is finally warmer with highs in the upper 50's and lower 60's. The redfish bite is still on nearshore on the 4 hour fishing charters. Spring Break is coming and we are excited. Will be looking for cobia, redfish, Spanish mackerel and much much more. We have the Getaway in the boatyard getting new paint on the bottom and the hull. she is looking good. We plan on being in the water by Feb 8th and fishing. come join us. January 20th, 2010 We are back from a wonderful time in Costa Rica. The fishing was a bit slow, but I sure did enjoy the beautiful weather and the scenery. The food was delicious. Fish and fruit and more fish and fruit. No complaints from me. We did catch a few sailfish and mahi mahi over the week. Leigh and I met up with my good friend Larry and his friend Jeffery. We all four fished together. I must say, I enjoyed the entire experience including the fishing, the beautiful scenery, the very friendly people, great food and relaxing. Now I am ready for some great Alabama Gulf Coast fishing. January 3rd, 2010 It is cold all across the country today, including Orange Beach, Alabama. We usually do not experience this cold weather more than 2 -3 days. I will be on vacation January 10th through 17th and then be back fishing again. The big bull redfish should be around till late March. Spring Break is coming soon. Book your trip now. December 27th, 2009 The big bull redfish bite is still on. We caught some very nice bull reds this week weighing from 18 to 28 pounds. This is just awesome. There is plenty more time to come and experience this great winter fishing for bull redfish in Orange Beach, Al. they should be around till late March. December 23rd, 2009 We fished yesterday and caught some very nice bull redfish. We had one over 30 pounds. It was a beautiful day with a cool morning warming to 65 degrees. It is just awesome to watch so many anglers catch 20 to 30 pound fish on light spinning tackle. The 4 hour saltwater fishing charters are a real deal. I wish we had this kind of fishing year round but the bull redfish bite only happens from late October through early March and then tapers off into the end of March. We will take Dec 24th and 25th off and then be fishing on Dec 26th. Go here to see Saltwater Fishing Pics from 2009
